Abstract
The introduction of the allyl group into the barbituric acid nucleus at the 5-position has led to the production of several therapeutically useful barbituric acids. Barbituric acids containing unsaturated aliphatic groups such as the crotyl, propinyl, cyclohexenyl, and cyclopentenyl groups are known.
