Abstract

la-~-Ribofuranosyl-5, 6-dimethylbenzimidazole (a-ribazole) has been prepared by cerous hydroxide catalyzed hydrolysis of cyanocobalamin, purified, and characterized by elemental analysis and'H and I3C NMR and UV-visible spectroscopy.
