Abstract

Abstract A series of styryl dyes: 2??substituted styryl benzimidazole and α??methyl??2?? substituted styryl benzimidazole were synthesized under solvent??free microwave irradiation by the condensation of 2??methylbenzimidazole or 2??ethylbenzimidazole with aromatic aldehydes in the presence of Ac2O.
