Abstract

2-Aminobenzophenones are important precursors to 1, 4-benzodiazepines.'The continued discovery of novel l, 4-benzodiazepines with new biological activities2 makes versatile routea for the synthesis of 2-aminobenzophenones essential to further investigations of the structure-activity relationships of these seemingly ubiquitous receptor ligand~.~
