Abstract
Abstract Friedel–Crafts acylation of aromatic ethers, anisole, 2-methoxynaphthalene, and dimethoxybenzenes with different acid anhydrides is carried out in the presence of an inexpensive and nonhazardous solid acid, Amberlyst 15. The catalyst is reusable, thus making the process environmentally friendly.
