Abstract
The condensation of silyl ketene acetals with electrophiles has been often exploited in organic synthesis.'Typically, such reactions have been catalyzed by Lewis acids such as TiCL2 or SnC4 and, more recently, by anions such as fluoride3 and bifl~ oride.~
