Abstract
Iron (II) spin crossover (SCO) compounds represent one of the most important examples of switchable molecular materials. They can be reversibly switched through a perturbation by temperature, light, or pressure between the diamagnetic (S= 0) low-spin state (LS) and the paramagnetic ACHTUNGTRENNUNG (S= 2) high-spin state (HS) with corresponding variation of magnetic, dielectric, and optical responses.
