Abstract
1, 2, 3-Tri-0-acetyl-5-deoxy-~-ribofuranose (11), obtained in three steps from methyl 2, 3-0- isopropylidene-5-~-mesy~-D-ribofuranoside (IV), was converted to the 1-chloro sugar (I). Condensation of I with chloromercuri-6-dimethylamin0-purine, followed by deblocking, aff ordcd 6-dimetliylamino-0-(~-deoxy-~-~-r~ bofuranosyl)-purine(VII).
