Abstract
The ability of transition metals to achieve insertion in CO bonds of triflates1 or other sulfonates2 and undergo coupling reactions has been demonstrated in the early eighties. As a consequence, the extension to palladium chemistry3 and the use of vinyl4 and aryl triflates5 as substrates with organotin reagents were readily investigated for synthetic purposes and broadened the scope of the Stille coupling reaction.
