Abstract
The influence of certain acidic solvents and chloramine structure on the photolytic Hofmann- Loeffler reaction has been studied. The &chloramine from N-chlorodi-n-butylamine was formed in 71y0 or better yield in the solvents 3.9 M sulfuric acid in acetic acid, nitromethane, or acetonitrile and in trifluoroacetic acid.
