Abstract

A series of cis and trans allylic halides has been reduced with triphenyltin hydride in a chain reaction which involves allylic radicals. Varying degrees of cis-trans isomerization of the intermediate allylic radicals have been observed and it has been shown that the variation is concentration dependent and also dependent on structure.
