Abstract

A new and highly effective catalytic method for epoxide alkynylations has been developed that involves the chelation-controlled alkylation of heterosubstituted epoxides with Me3Al via pentacoordinate organoaluminum complexes by taking advantage of the exceedingly high affinity of aluminum to oxygen.
