Abstract

New strong Brønsted acids derived from a squaric acid scaffold bearing different perfluoroalkanesulfonyl groups have been developed and applied to several organic reactions. These squaramides are bench-stable and exhibit much higher reactivities in several organic reactions than squaric acid itself.
