Abstract
Experiments have been performed to obtain an understanding of the mechanism of IF(B) production in the flames of F atoms with various iodides. Measurements have been made of the relative IF(B), I( 2 P ) and I( 2 P ) concentrations in a F/BiI 3 flame under various conditions, including the addition of O 2 ( 1 Δ).
