Abstract

In the early 1990s, Schwesinger reported that phosphazenes such as 1 (namely P4-t-Bu) are nonnucleophilic very strong bases. 1 They have found numerous applications in organic synthesis, 2 but their high molecular weight and cost are drawbacks for their extensive use.
