Abstract: Of the five possible indolocarbazoles the title compound (CC) is the only unknown isomer. It is easily prepared photochemically from N, N'-dimethyl-N, N'-diphenyl-1, 4-~ henylenediamine (AA). Steady-state and flash experiments have shown that the reaction takes place adiabatically in the triplet manifold. Two photons are required for the reaction.
