Abstract
Abstract The UV spectra of the phosphines (C 6 H 5) 2 P [C 6 H 4] n P (C 6 H 5) 2, n= 1–4, and their oxides are communicated and compared to the spectra of triphenylphosphine and (C 6 H 5) 3 PO. The introduction of two diphenylphosphino groups in 4-position of oligophenyls gives a strong, and of two diphenylphosphinyl groups a small oxides at the longest wave length may be interpreted from the spectra of the oligophenyls as the ...
