Abstract

Found: C, 70.54; H, 9.83. The bromocaumaran VIc (0.33 8.) and cyclohexyl bromide (0.22 9.) in ether (10 cc.) was stirred with magnesium (0.163 9.) while the magnesium was reacting with ethyl bromide (0.21 9.) in ether (10 cc.). The procedure and processing of the reacQon mixture were carried out as described above in the preparation of Ib.
