Abstract

The 2-substituted benzothiazole moiety is particularly very interesting in the area of medicinal and organic chemistry. The benzothiazolyl system possesses highly selective and potent antitumor activity. An example is that of substituted 2-(4-aminophenyl)- benzothiazoles, which show nanomolar inhibitory in vitro activity against a wide range of human breast, ovarian, colon, and renal cell lines [1].
