Abstract
Results The alcohols were treated with lead tetraacetate from a 1: 1 to a 1: 2 (R0H: LTA) molar ratio in refluxing benzene from 11 hr to 2 days. The composition of the products was determined by gas chromatography and products were identified by comparison of their ir and nmr spectra and retention times on a gas chromatograph with those of authentic samples.
