Abstract
In previous papers from this Laboratory2 are given the results of the study of the influence of substituents on the relative reactivities of the carbon-chlorine bond in a number of monosubstitution products of benzoyl chloride. The rates at which the compounds react with methyl alcohol and with ethyl alcohol at 0 and 25" were determined by measuring the electrical conductivity of the solution as the reaction proceeded.
