Abstract Tetrachlorodiborane (4) reacts with cyclopropane, methylcyclopropane and dimethylcyclopropanes to give ring cleavage addition compounds. IR and NMR data support structures with dichloroboryl groups in the 1, 3 position of the hydrocarbon chain.
