Abstract
That hydrogen sulfide adds to methyl acrylate, acrylonitrile or crotonaldehyde when a basic catalyst is present, but not to methyl methacrylate, was established recently. The present paper reports an extension of this type of reaction to mercaptans and thiophenols.
