Abstract

October 7, 196s r,-pDialkylparaconic acids (111) were synthesized by hydrolysis of r,- pdialkyl-a, p-dicarbethoxybutyrolac-tones (IV), or by means of lactonization of the Stobbe half-esters (IX). The butyrolactones (IV) were obtained by the condensation of ethyl@- dialkylglycidates (V) with sodiomalonate.
