Abstract

An extension of a new method for the synthesis of urea from ammonia, carbon monoxide, and sulfura to the preparation of symmetrical disubstituted ureas in high yields from aliphatic and aromatic amines was described re~ ently.~~~ The same procedure has proved to be satisfactory for the preparation of 1, l-dialkyl-3-arylureas, but is less advantageous for other classes of unsymmetrical ureas.
