Abstract

Reaction of analogs (2a-c) of dehydro-L-ascorbic acid with an excess of ophenylenediamine.-A methanolic solution of l (30-40 mg/mL) was oxidized” by O,/charcoal for 1-2 h, and then the solvent was evaporated in vacua. The remaining residue was dissolved in small amounts of ethanol and 2 molar equivs. of ophenylenediamine was added all at once to the solution.
