Abstract
In general, a condensation reaction most frequently used to prepare ketones In the laboratory 1s the reaction of organometalllcs with acylating reagents. As the latter reagents, acid halides,' esters,' acid anhydrldes,3 nitriles,' N-acyl- ~m~daz.oles,s 2-pylidllthloesters,6 and 8-acyloxyquinolines7 are employed and in some cases carboxylic acids themselves are used.
