Abstract

Table I lists the boiling points, densities, refractive indices and molar refractions of 20 new organosilicon heptafluoro-nbutyrates, pentafluoropropionates, trifluorqacetates, difluoroacetates and acetates. The average error in calculated molar refractions is 0.40% and the CF bond refraction is close to 1.850. An empirical equation bp of ester= n (0.250)(bp of R, Si)+(4-n)(!)(bp of acid)-% is the number of alkyl groups attached to silicon, and ...
