Abstract
2-Propanol is a reducing agent in certain environments that include photochemical and basic conditions as well as the presence of Raney nickel. This catalyst has been employed in some instances to reduce ketones to alcohols' in 2-propranol and to study the equilibration of epimeric alcohols2 in the presence of some acetone.
