Abstract

Reaction of aryl halides with carbon nucleophiles such as anions of active methylene compounds promoted by copper species, forming a carbon-carbon bond, is a useful tool for preparation of substituted aromatic compounds. l The reaction usually requires a stoichiometric amount of copper (1) salt, unless the halides are activated by an o- carboxylate gr0up. l On the other hand, we have recently reported that reaction of aryl and ...
