Abstract
Abstract Novel monomethine 2a-f, dimethine 4a-f and tetramethine 6a-h cyanine dyes were prepared as conjugated dyes. Such dyes incorporating coumarin and/or quinoline derivatives 1a-d. These dyes were synthesized to study their spectral behavior, solvatochromism and biological activity. These dyes are characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1 H NMR and mass-spectra.
