Method B. A mixture of ll. O g (0. i mole) of pyrocatechol, 16.7 g (0.075 mole) of 3-methyl-4- chloro-5-bromomethylisoxazole and 13.8 g of anhydrous potassium carbonate was boiled with vigorous stirring for I0 h.
