Abstract
The photochemical deoxygenation of dibenzothiophene-S-oxides (DBTOs) to dibenzothiophenes (DBTs) and the corresponding reactions of thiophene-S-oxide (TO) derivatives has a history going back into the 1970s, when first reported by Gurria and Posner.[1] Deoxygenation of other sulfoxides is known,[2–4] but it appears that the cases with the greatest chemical yield are generally limited to those in which the sulfur atom ...
