Abstract

The family of Strychnos alkaloids [1] with strychnine [2] as the most prominent example constitutes one of the most intriguing classes of natural products. Since the structure elucidation of strychnine by Robinson et al.[3] the high level of complexity of this molecule has continued to attract synthetic chemists.
