Abstract
The family of Strychnos alkaloids [1] with strychnine [2] as the most prominent example constitutes one of the most intriguing classes of natural products. Since the structure elucidation of strychnine by Robinson et al.[3] the high level of complexity of this molecule has continued to attract synthetic chemists. It possesses seven fused rings and six asymmetric centers and is hence one of the most complex natural products of this size. ...
