Abstract

I II addition involving the relatively new class of compounds represented by I, is also of interest because of its reasonable explanation in terms of a novel ringopening sequence involving a phosphoranyl radical intermediate. In addition, the proton nmr spectrum of 11 (Figure 1) exhibits a somewhat unusual longrange molecular asymmetry effect which is discussed later.
