Abstract
According to the literat~ re,~-~ A2-cyclohexenone is available by a variety of methods. In attempting to prepare a quantity of this ketone we obtained uniformly poor results with a number of the most promising methods previously described. The best method found was the dehydration at 310-320'of cyclohexanol-2-one-1 by activated alumina, a procedure not previously described.
