Abstract: Picosecond dynamics of intramolecular photocyclization (1-2) for a series of anthracenes linked at the 9 position (1) have been measured after 355-nm excitation by a 25- ps laser pulse. Picosecond dynamics for the corresponding photocycloreversion (2-1) have also been measured after 266-nm excitation of 2 by a 25-ps laser pulse.
