Abstract

Phenols heated with hexamine and boric acid in 2-ethoxyethanol form secondary amines of the type OH* X. CH,-NH* CH,* X* OH (H* X* OH= the phenol).. Dehydrogenation of these amines by heating them with hexamine in acetic acid produces Schiff's bases of the type
