Abstract

Low molecular weight alkyl thiolsulfinates have been made by the oxidation of disulfides2 with peracetic acid and by the reaction between sulfinyl chlorides and mercaptans. 8 They are oils which decompose on standing2J; aromatic thiolsulfinates decompose when subjected to high vacuum or intensive drying. 4
