Abstract

The imidazo [4, 5-b] pyridine scaffold, which is a bioisosteric analogue of purine, appears to be important in molecules with pharmacological activities such as angiotensin II receptor antagonist [1], thromboxane A2/prostaglandin H2 receptor antagonist [2], tuberculostatic [3], inhibitors of leukotriene A4 hydrolase [4] and anti HIV-1 [5].
