Abstract
Macrolide antibiotics are widely prescribed for the treatment of respiratory tract infections; however, the increasing prevalence of macrolide-resistant pathogens is a public health concern. Therefore, the development of new macrolide scaffolds with activities against resistant pathogens is urgently needed.
