Abstract
Abstract A series of aryl dicarboxaldehydes was synthesized and evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial properties against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans and Penicillium. The members of the series showed a preferential fungal growth inhibition and hardly any activity against Gram negative bacteria.
