Abstract: Acid-catalyzed reactions of various phenols with dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) have been studied. The principal products were phenols alkylated in the available ortho positions with thiomethoxymethyl groups.
