Abstract

Meprobamate (I) was found by Bergerl and others2 to be excreted in the urine of animals and humans in an unchanged form, and as a glucosyluronide conjugate. More recently, Walkenstein et aL3 reported the isolatJion of a second metabolic product, 2-hydroxymethyl- 2-propyl-1, 3-propanediol dicarbamate (11), from urine of animals receiving this drug.
