Abstract
Several reportsl-4 have appeared recently of the synthesis of porphyrin-like systems in which one or more pyrrolic units have been replaced by either furan or thiophen. It seemed that another approach to this type of macrocycle might be made by way of oxyporphyrin-like intermediates
