Abstract

New molecular receptors with dibenz [c, h] acridine skeleton bearing functional groups complementary to malonic acids have been developed. Dibutylmalonic acid is bound in chloroform with Kass values between 102 and 105 M− 1 via hydrogen-bonding interactions. The catalytic ability of several of these receptors in the decarboxylative reaction of this diacid has been investigated.
