Abstract

A convenient access to carbamoylmethylphosphine oxides (CMPO) in up to 96% isolated yield is developed via direct amidation of diphenylphosphoryl acetic acid in an ionic liquid as a recyclable reaction medium in the presence of triphenyl phosphite.
