Abstract

It was desired to obtain for potentiometric study quinones or hydroquinones derived from quinoline and isoquinoline. In the case of the former heterocycle no preparative problem was involved, for 5, 8-quinolinequinone is a known compound'and Matsumura and Sone2 have developed a very convenient method for the preparation of the corresponding hydroquinone.
