Abstract

We have checked the work done by previous investigators on 2, 5dimethyltetrahydrofuran hydroperoxide with aqueous ferrous ion3 and have extended this work by accomplishing the decomposition of I in the presence of carbon tetrachloride to produce 4-chloro-2-butyl acetate (V) along with IV.
