Abstract

Abstract: Dimethylsilylene reacts with oxetane to give high yields of allyloxydimethylsilane and 2, 2-dimethyl-1-oxa-2-silacyclopentane. These products result from decomposition of an initial 1, 2-zwitterionic intermediate which is formed by coordination of the electrophilic dimethylsilylene with the oxygen of oxetane. Similar results have been obtained from the reactions of dimethylsilylene with 2-methyloxetane, 2, Z-dimethyloxetane, 3, 3- ...
